Background: Magga Education believes that education is the path to lasting peace and prosperity for all people. Magga Education is a non-profit organization established in December 2016 with the aim of providing quality-oriented education and training for Myanmar people to strengthen their capacity in English language, critical and creative thinking, decisions making, leadership and management and political and civic participation. Magga Education will engage the program assistant to provide high-level training programs for people in Myanmar.
About the Position: The Program Assistant will be responsible for performing a various task of general office to the Magga Education center. He/she will need to be able to perform in assisting the administration, logistics, teachers, trainers, consultants, and other staffs. The daily tasks may include scheduling meetings, assisting online and in-person trainings, communication with outside, inquiring about the office supply and others.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Help filing documents and maintain filing systems
- Coordinate meetings and appointment schedules and record program team meetings.
- Assist in developing and designing training and communication materials such as flyers, brochures, factsheets, presentations, and reports.
- Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering both online and offline training programs.
- Assist in coordinating and arranging online training and networking events.
- Help in creating training videos and facilitating live sessions.
- Help in recruiting training participants and other beneficiaries.
- Help in gathering and evaluating information and data relating to participants’ learning for monitoring and evaluation of training programs and activities.
- Support and draft contents for posting on social media and website.
- Assist in administration and financial management.
- Help in buying office equipment and materials needed for training rooms.
- Assist teachers, trainers, and consultants in preparing their materials for training.
- Help ensure the office and center are clean and tidy and neat.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Qualifications and Attitudes:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or at least final year student in any majors
- Minimum one year of experience as a program assistant in education field. Training experience is a plus.
- Good written and spoken Burmese and English and able to communicate in English
- Typing skills in Burmese including Unicode.
- Experience in conducting research online
- Ability to use Canva, Google G Suite such as Google drive, sheet, docs, forms, Gmail and other design software.
- Ability to use word processing, excel database, and presentation PowerPoints.
- Ability to use online platforms such as Zoom Meeting and other online tools.
- Experience in writing contents on social media like Facebook and LinkedIn and website.
- Flexible and able to adapt to working place
- Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn and grow in a diverse team and multicultural environments.
- Capacity to work remotely and maintain virtual team best practices.

Position: Program Coordinator

Magga will engage the Program Coordinator to provide high-level training programs for Myanmar society.
Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Project Director (PD), Program Coordinator will play a central role to coordinate among different staff and consultants for effective training delivery. In collaboration with the PD, the Program Coordinator ensures that program staffs and training teams are well communicated, and all training programs are in line with Magga Education policies including Financial Policy, Human Resources Policy, and others. The Program Coordinator will be based in Yangon and working with other team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help in recruiting and hiring the training team including Curriculum Developer, and Program Trainers.
- Recruit participants for the training, workshops, and events.
- Engage with the training team for needs assessment, curriculum development, training designs and providing inputs.
- Assist in conducting the needs assessment, curriculum development and training design processes.
- Recommend training materials, organize and send them out to participants.
- Make sure training delivery and implementation of project activities are efficient and effective.
- Create training schedules, track and reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the institution.
- Draft participants application and launching them on social media, through emails and website.
- Gather and evaluate information and data relating to participants’ learning for the M&E purpose.
- Help in arranging and hosting networking events for alumni.
- Coordinate partnerships with stakeholders and other education and training institutes, including youth organizations, to supplement program activities.
- Help in Monitoring & Evaluation and financial mechanisms.
- Aid in managing project finances.
- Collect alumni’s success stories, prepare and draft project reporting.
- Help to arrange and have meetings with the Magga Education’s Board of Directors and teams from time to time.
- Assist in any other tasks assigned by the Project Director.
Required Experience, Qualifications and Attitudes:
- 2-4 years of experience in working for a non-profit organization focusing on education and training
- Proven experience of program administration including budgeting and finance.
- Proven experience in coordinating and collaborating for training delivery both online and offline
- Proven experience in arranging and managing different networking events for training participants online and offline
- Prior training experience especially for youth in Myanmar is preferred.
- Ability to use word processing, excel database, and presentation PowerPoints
- Ability to use online platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, Google Forms and many others
- Ability to facilitate online discussion, learning and events.
- Extraordinary organizational, verbal, and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- High degree of flexibility
- Capacity to work remotely and maintain virtual team best practices
- Proven translating experience from English to Myanmar and Myanmar to English
- High level of English proficiency
- Be able to work independently and effectively in a diverse team and multicultural environment.
- Minimum of a BS/BA degree; MS/MA in Education preferred
